Who is penning

Penning is a group of WEB3 related financial services, where the innovation of the world of crypto is combined with the tradtional financial world. From trading, and investng the idea came from needing a one-stop-shop where the world can easily, and safely can make use of the opportunities from the crypto world, all the while staying compliant. As Penning is incorporated in Copenhagen, Denmark, and registered with the Danish FSA, working with Danish Payment rails, and MiCA-compliant you ensured that Penning lives up to the name of compliancy.

Noun

Penning was the Nordics' most commonly used payment denomination in the middle ages, as well as being the Nordic's oldest minting.

Literally translated to any language across the globe, Penning means money. This encapsulates Penning’s vision of building a secure, compliant, and financial eco-system for all our members.

We are applying the word, the name Penning as a leading platform to give the masses access to the endless possibilities in the DeFi market. In the middle ages, minting was reserved for the royals, whereas today Penning is open to all.

Jimmie Steinbeck

CEO & Executive Board Member

Bringing over 14 years of experience out of the 15 years the Crypto & Blockchain space has existed. A serial entrepreneur, and investor in the Web3 space, Jimmie combines his business development, tech, and field expertise to Penning Groups development of becoming the future investment bank for digital assets. Trusted advisor within the blockchain and crypto space, he has spent the last decade building yield generating platforms, products and services in the digital asset realm. As the CEO, he’s serving as one of the founding teams visionaries for how money is moving in the future, in a world that enjoys economic freedom and wealth creation, no matter who and where you are.

Hasan Surtiwala

CBO & Chairman

As venture “veteran”, Hasan comes from over a decade of startup experience founding numerous tech startups, and raising capital for +100 ventures. His first entry to realm of digital assets, came during his tenure at a corporate finance house in 2016, and has since then been a founding member of the Blockchain Center in Vilnius, and helped raise capital for ICO and blockchain related startups. As a seasoned investor in the financial markets, he was part of building one of the largest online communities for general public to investing in the financial markets, and later on part of building what became the largest angel investment network in Denmark allowing the “common man” a community to invest in promising ventures. As the Chief Business Officer at Penning Group, Hasan is part of democratizing access for both privates and businesses across borders to the digital assets space.

Martin Hebsgaard Jessen

COO & Executive Board Member

Being at the core of blockchain development, and governance Martin is leading the operational, technology and business development goals at Penning Group. Having served as a blockchain expert at Danish Standards, creating international ISO standards for blockchain technology, while consulting and heading initiatives for the implementation of blockchain solutions with the Danish Health Data Authority and for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, his unique combination of tech, and business sets the future roadmap for Penning Group. As an avid investor and researcher of digital assets capital markets, he’s also steering the business and operational growth of Penning Capital Management.
